We were quite disappointed in this headboard and frame and have returned both to Amazon. The headboard was described in the item headline as having an "antique bronze" finish. The reality was a poorly painted dark brown paint with amateurish yellow brush strokes over the top. Somehow, this was supposed to simulate "bronze." One of the headboard posts also had a big visible drip and a scratch down to the bare metal. Obviously, quality control is not a priority on this product. The frame supplied is also bottom-of-the-barrel quality. Made out of 3/4" square tubing, it had very minimal spot welds to affix the legs. I'd be very hesitant to put a heavy king-size box spring and mattress on this structure . . . I've read other reviews that the legs on this cheap frame bent under the load. I didn't know they made (in China, of course) bed frames with this kind of minimal material until I opened the box.All-in-all, this product was seriously misrepresented. I'm sure Amazon can't vet everything that pops up on their website, but this product was sold and shipped by Amazon itself. I think this is a case where Amazon does have a responsibility for a product description that is reasonably accurate, especially as far as the quality discrepancies I've described. We've purchased many products from Amazon over the years -- some high dollar merchandise -- with good results. However, I feel that, after this experience, I cannot trust their product descriptions as I could in the past. One very positive note: Amazon makes the return process on a large item like this as painless as possible. They scheduled a UPS pick-up immediately after I contacted them, and then issued a full credit to my charge card.
