Pretty sturdy by office cabinet standards. Don't get me wrong, it's a much better option than leaving your lead tossin' freedom sticks unlocked; however, you would still expect a 10 gun cabinet to deliver a bit more for your dollar. For example, in keeping with the standard of an American (made in China) product, the quality of the cabinet is fairly standard. The pre fab parts are mostly compatible- with enough elbow grease- and the finish is better than a rattle can paint job. Throw in a few packaging dings and scrapes and voilà, you have yourself a new cabinet with all the character of a golden thrift store find. After stumbling through the mostly intelligible instructions, you'll find yourself with a very top heavy gun safe. Plan on bolting this puppy to the wall or floor - if I turn the ceiling fan on or pass gas in the night she'll fall on her back like a cheap date. With the gun shelf in the lowest setting, it will barely reach the tip of a fully extended AR15- if you have optics on that, hold on to your seat, cause it'll take up three of those ten gun spaces in the safe. With a Remington 870 sitting in the safe, the adjustable shelf can't be set low enough to put a box of shot shells on it.Don't get me wrong, there are some features I like about this cabinet. For starters, my wife has since stopped complaining about my mini arsenal taking up space where her shoes now reside. Also, the profile of "Bambi" on the front brings out a certain primal drive out of her. Rowr.To shoot it straight, this is a pretty solid cabinet for two bills. It's not fancy, it's not feature filled, and it might not fit 10 guns- but it's not a back-breaking monster safe that would be otherwise inconvenient for apartment style living. For those on a budget or in a rental living arrangement, this is the one for you. Otherwise, invest in a more sturdy and better built product.
